MND Enginnering has been involved in the "Panoramique des Dômes" project, a future cogwheel train line running through the towns of Ceyssat and Orcines, at an altitude of about 600 m, and then to the summit of Puy de Dôme (1465 m).
Currently the only operation of its type in France, the "Panoramique des Dômes", launched by Departmental Council 63, should be complete by 2012.
Upon the request of the group in charge of the project, MND Engineering contributed to an exhaustive report on the natural risks the future trin could encounter during its ascension.
This included looking at the geology, the likelihood of landslides, mountainside erosions, rock falls, possible movements of the snow mantle, forest-related risks and fires, quakes and torrential floods, for which MND Engineering delved into archives, thoroughly studied the land to determine zones to reinforce, protect or monitor.
